Tomtom One Xp Driver

'To update your TomTom navigation device, you need to install the MyDrive Connect application on your PC or Mac computer.' TomTom don't supply software to connect their products to Linux, just to Mac or Windows.

They don't even say how modern the Windows needs to be.In order of increasing difficulty and frustration.1 Find a Windows machine where you can connect your hardware and run the TomTom program. Possibly a cheap NetBook dedicated to updating TomTom hardware.2 Dual boot a Windows OS installed on your Linux machine, ideally in a separate hard drive where it can live all alone. Windows 10 is quite relaxed about try-before-you-buy licensing. Obviously they expect you to pay eventually, but initially it just costs time to download their ISO installer here and burn it to a DVD.3 Get a Windows10 ISO and install it in a VirtualBox appliance. I think there's a good chance this will work. If it does work, you owe Microsoft for the copy of Windows you are using.4 Fight with Wine trying to get all the libraries needed to run InstallMyDriveConnect.exe This might work, but it's a hacker-hobby really, you do it because it's difficult.

Hi 'lisabiziou',I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well.1.) install Virtualbox and then install a version of MS Windows in that where you can install their Windows software.2.) You can try installing Wine and see if that will install the TomTom software and work with your device.3.) Don't know if any of the below will help, but if Linux recognizes your TomTom (run 'lsusb'), then you might be able to use something below. ADD A DEVICE'Luckily, I paid $45 for it!You might check if the driver in the Windows VM is correct. I noticed that it is possible a strange driver (for instance an NDIS network driver) was used.

Remedy: Close TomTom MyDrive Connect (REALLY close it, the taskbar icon might be just hidden), Devices and Printers - Right click on your TomTom device, Properties, Hardware, Properties, Driver, Uninstall driver.Disconnect the TomTom, wait a few seconds, reconnect it.It should look for and install the correct driver.Restart TomTom MyDrive Connect and repeat my procedure. This time it might work. Tap Settings in the Main Menu.2. Tap Reset factory settings.

Confirm that you wish to proceed with the reset.3. When prompted to select a language, press and hold the On/Off button until the device restarts and you hear the drum sounds.4.
